I am a visiting nurse in a large urban center. During my cycle last summer I had to give myself IVF shots in the evening. On the nights that I did the later calls I would bring my medications in a cooler and give myself the injections in the car. I was preparing my injection in a parking lot one evening and didn't even realize that a police car was parked fairly close by. I was getting ready to inject into my thigh (you know the struggle trying to pull down your pants far enough in the drivers seat!) Within seconds the cop was at my door demanding that I step out of the car and leave the drugs in plain view!!! He thought I was shooting up heroin or something!! I was outraged and practically threw the vial at him to let him see that it was actually pharmacy supplied medication. The ironic thing is, the area I work in, unfortunately, is well known for drug dealers and addicts. I was p*ssed off at the time but now I laugh at it - especially the cops reaction and humiliation when he realized what the medications were for!
