  Almost ready for IVF

After reading many of these stories, I felt like it would help to talk about my situation also. Here's a little background. I'm 29 and my dh is 29 too. We've been married for 3 years and have been trying to conceive for 2 years. In the last year, we've been through every invasive test possible. After 1 year of trying to conceive on our own we had the usual blood work, post-coital and SA tests. The blood work was fine, the post-coital showed no sperm, and the SA showed a borderline low sperm count. After that I had a laparoscopy where they found very minimal endometriosis and removed it.

My gyn said I could continue to try naturally or try Clomid. I did 3 cycles of Clomid with IUI, which were not successful. I gave myself a 3 month break and started the "shot therapy" with Lupron and Gonal-F. I had 2-3 good sized eggs in both the cycles that I tried. I had IUI with both these cycles as well. Each cycle was such an emotional rollercoaster. I cried all the time, was moody, and gained a lot of weight. After that I decided I needed a break. It's been 5 months now and still no luck. It's so hard because everyone I know is getting pregnant plus, I work in a pediatric clinic where teenage moms come in all the time with babies upon babies that they are not capable of taking care of. Then, I ask God Why Me? As most of you know some days are better than others but I do still have hope. So, we will be starting IVF in January or February 2000.
